Our Story

Founded in 1995, GlobeCast Media began as a small newspaper operation with a big vision: to deliver unbiased, factual news to a global audience. What started as a modest publication with just 15 employees has grown into one of the world's most respected news organizations, with bureaus in 35 countries and a team of over 500 dedicated journalists, editors, and media professionals.

Our founder, Robert Henderson, established GlobeCast Media with the belief that in an increasingly interconnected world, people need a news source that transcends borders and ideologies. "News shouldn't have agendas," Henderson famously said in our first edition. "It should have facts, context, and respect for the intelligence of our readers."

Through the digital revolution of the 2000s, GlobeCast Media embraced technological innovation while maintaining our commitment to journalistic integrity. We were among the first traditional news organizations to establish a robust online presence, recognizing early that the future of news would be digital, interactive, and immediate.

Today, we reach over 50 million people monthly across our various platforms—digital, print, broadcast, and mobile. Despite our growth, we've remained true to our core mission: delivering news that matters with accuracy, fairness, and depth.

Our Impact

Throughout our history, GlobeCast Media has been at the forefront of groundbreaking journalism that has made a tangible difference in the world. Our investigative reporting has exposed corruption, prompted policy changes, and given voice to marginalized communities.

In 2008, our year-long investigation into pharmaceutical pricing practices led to congressional hearings and ultimately to legislation making essential medicines more affordable for millions. In 2015, our coverage of the refugee crisis in Europe helped mobilize humanitarian aid and shape international response. And in 2020, our fact-checking initiative played a crucial role in combating misinformation about the COVID-19 pandemic.

We measure our impact not just in awards (though we've won numerous Pulitzers, Peabodys, and other prestigious honors), but in the positive change our reporting helps catalyze. We believe that quality journalism should not only inform but also improve the world we cover.

Fact-Checking and Verification

We maintain a multi-layered fact-checking process that involves primary source verification, cross-referencing with documentation, and consultation with subject matter experts. Our dedicated research team works alongside reporters to verify every claim, statistic, and assertion before publication.

We actively seek out diverse voices and perspectives in our reporting, recognizing that complex issues are rarely understood through a single lens. Our team includes journalists from varied cultural, geographical, and ideological backgrounds who bring different viewpoints to our newsroom.

Ethical Standards

All GlobeCast Media journalists adhere to a strict code of ethics that prohibits taking gifts, favors, or special treatment from sources or subjects of our coverage. We clearly distinguish between news reporting and opinion content, and we avoid conflicts of interest that could compromise our integrity.

As the media landscape continues to evolve, we remain committed to these core principles while innovating in how we tell stories and engage with our audience. We believe that the future of quality journalism depends on maintaining trust through ethical, accurate reporting while embracing new ways to make news accessible and meaningful.
